Advanced Buteyko Institute Limited does not share users' personal information with third parties. We only use it to enable users to login to the app and website, to enable users to track their own progress while also enabling our Buteyko instructors to track their students' progress and provide them with better personalized instruction, advice and support.
Data Retention
We retain the personal information associated with your account — your name, email address, telephone number, address, health and fitness data, your account addresses on voice and video communication apps, and your breathing exercise data (dates, times, exercise types, breathing data and saved remarks) — for as long as your account remains open, so that you and your Buteyko instructor can continue to track your progress. When your account is deleted, all of this data is deleted along with it. The only data we keep after deletion is non-personally-identifiable data regarding the performance of the app, such as diagnostics and crash logs, and any purchase records we retain for tax and accounting purposes for up to 7 years.
Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time, either in the Buteyko Pro app or on the website. In the Buteyko Pro app: open the account page, press the "DELETE ACCOUNT" button, then press "DELETE MY ACCOUNT". On the website: log in to your account at www.buteykobreathing.com, press "My account details", then "Delete Account", then "Delete My Account". In both cases we then send you an email with a confirmation link; click that link to confirm your account deletion. Free accounts are deleted immediately, along with all associated data. Accounts which were used to do a course with a personal instructor will need to also confirm their request by sending an email to our support team, and we will then delete the account manually within 30 days. Buteyko Breathing is an individually personalized, gradual training system. Doing a Buteyko Breathing course does not qualify students to teach or guide others: It can have a negative impact if not controlled by a qualified instructor.
Students should always consult their doctor before engaging in Buteyko Breathing: the activities may be too strenuous or dangerous for some people.
Waiver of Liability
Buteyko Breathing may be too strenuous for some people, including but not limited to those suffering from ocular hypertension, diabetes and cardiovascular, heart or kidney problems. Always consult your doctor before starting. All practical exercises and testing performed throughout this course are entirely OPTIONAL. By registering for and attending the Buteyko course, using our app or signing up for an online user account on our website, you agree to assume full responsibility for any injury, death, losses or damages you may sustain as a result of participating in a Buteyko course or attending a Buteyko teaching session. You further release the Advanced Buteyko Institute Limited, drs. Eduard Reuvers, Buteyko instructors and event hosts and/or sponsors from any and all liability, claim, demand or action you may have whether caused by yourself or by the Advanced Buteyko Institute Limited, drs. Eduard Reuvers, a Buteyko instructor, event host and/or sponsor. Additionally, by attending a local event you grant permission to the Advanced Buteyko institute Limited, course sponsors, event hosts and/or its affiliates, the lawful use of your voice, image and likeness, in whole or in part, with or without your name, for any purpose including transmission, reproduction, photograph, video and/or audio recording for advertisement, promotion, or other.
Cancellation Policy
Purchase of individual or online education is non-refundable. Appointments for individual teaching sessions with an instructor (via Skype or otherwise) can only be rescheduled if the instrucutor is personally notified by the student at least 12 hours in advance (before the scheduled time). Local event fees are non-refundable within 14 days of the event, but the local event fees may be applied to a future local event within the following year. If cancelled before 14 days, the local event fee is 100% refundable. In the unlikely event the seminar sponsor, instructor and/or host must cancel an event in its entirety, registrants may choose to receive a refund of paid local event fees or credit toward a future local event within the following year. While reasonable efforts will be made to adhere to the advertised package, the seminar sponsor, instructor and/or host reserves the right to substitute alternate speakers and/or event content from those listed.
